Tiling
The Building Experience tiling course offers our customers the chance to learn to tile a whole variety of different rooms from bathrooms to kitchens, creating your own unique designs.
If you want to update your bathroom, en-suite, kitchen or cloakroom then the TBE team can work with you, in your own home, to show you the tricks of the tiling trade. With our team of experienced tradesman we can take you through the complete tiling process.
Learning to Tile
Each tiling job has the following stages to it, and we will make sure you are involved and educated through each stage.
Preparation
The first stage would normally be to strip the old floor or wall coverings. This often requires some repairs to the tile backing or sub-floor and as preparation is the key to success we will ensure that it is perfectly set up for you to learn how to tile.
Cutting & Laying
The second stage is the laying and cutting of the tiles. Before any tiles are stuck to the wall or floor the layout must be considered to ensure a visually pleasing result at the end. Asymmetrical tiling will not meet with the approval of the TBE team! Next comes the cutting and fixing of the tiles. Your TBE instructor will firstly show you how to lay the tiles, but as soon as you are confident you will be encouraged to start laying yourself, but at all times the quality of the finish will be rigorously checked.
Grouting
The final stage of tiling is grouting. Your TBE mentor will show you how important grouting is, and the big difference good or bad grouting can make to the overall job. At the end of the project you will have a beautiful new bathroom, with the satisfaction that you played a major role in achieving your dream look.
